Webb Soccer - 2012 Season
A Word from the Captain:
My name is Henry Jansen from the class of 2014. I’ve volunteered this year to fill the shoes left by Dale Pederson '12 and Michael Cheng '12 as the Webb soccer captain. Webb sports teams are not like typical college sports teams. We are not training every day, heck it’s a good day when we can find the time to step outside and feel the grass between our toes. What I like about our soccer team is despite the amount of losses we’ve accumulated over the years, we still come on to the field ready to play. Our best games are against our toughest opponents such as Sarah Lawrence and Cooper Union. It takes a Webbie kind of personality to be able to get knocked down, get back up, and come back for more. It’s some strange mix of tenacity, masochism and the thought of how good even one win in a season is going to taste. That being said, I am looking forward to having some good laughs this season too, win, lose or draw. I look forward to working with my teammates and our coach, Phil Schools, to keep making this team better.
