Super Season for Patience
Jenna Ferrieri skippered Patience to third in class for the Manhasset Bay Fall Series. On the boat from Webb were Jenna Ferrieri, Rorie Zuzick, Chris Lyons, Lee Boltz, Kyle Manis, Sam Granger, Randy Neureuter, Erin McElroy, and me — Professor Royce.
We finished five points out of first, with 15 points for a six-race series (first and second were tied with 10 points). Jenna did a great job steering the boat; Randy was awesome on the bow; Sam, Kyle and Erin were great on jib. Lee did a great job at pit (halyards); Chris did mast and Rorie was awesome on tactics and spinnaker trim. Seems like I was just along for the ride! Congratulations to all on a great series.
You can expect to see Webb mentioned in the UK-Halsey Newsletter; and Andrea Watson, secretary for the Long Island Sound Yacht Racing Association, plans to write an article for the local Port Washington/Manhasset newspaper that will feature Patience in the series. Manhasset Bay Yacht Club Commodore Sue Miller made special mention of Webb's performance at the awards ceremony.
This was a great Fall Season for Patience, placing second in the American Yacht Club Fall Series and third in the Manhasset Bay Fall Series. Thanks to everyone that sailed on the boat this season. I appreciate your participation, camaraderie, and enthusiasm for big boat sailing... please come back in the spring.
