First Practice 2010

The Webb Sailing Team braved cool temperatures and overcast skies as they held their first practice of the 2010 season on Thursday, March 11, 2010. The north-north east breeze, rolling down the length of the Sound, coupled with the ENE shoreline offered the perfect scenario for a first day of practice. There was an opportunity to work on boat speed up-wind and down in 10-15 knots and perfect surfing conditions offshore. At the same time, there was a gentle five knots and only slight chop in the lee of Matinecock Point-perfect for working on boat handling.
Webb's first regatta is this weekend (3/13-3/14) at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia.
