On Saturday, September 11, 2010 Professor John Hennings escorted the Sophomore Class to the Military Sealift Command Fire fighting School located on the Navy’s Earle Weapons Station in Freehold, New Jersey, as part of their preparation for the up-coming winter work term. The training that the Webb students receive at the school is modeled on the Basic Fire Fighting course that is given to Kings Point Midshipmen before they go to sea for their cadet under-way training.
The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers has awarded its two top undergraduate scholarships to Webb seniors for the fall of their senior year.
Ryan Pfeifer was awarded the Mandell and Lester Rosenblatt Undergraduate Scholarship, and Christopher Rose received the Robert N.
This summer, I worked for SAIC’s Maritime System Solutions Division in Lynnwood, WA. This was my third internship with the office, and each internship proved to be more exciting than the last.
