Neilson Appointed Academic Dean
Webb Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Richard P. Neilson as its next Academic Dean. Mr. Neilson will assume responsibility for the academic program on July 1 of this year, succeeding Dr. Roger H. Compton, Dean since 1998.
Alumni Trustees Host Winter Work Students
On January 27th, Amy and John Malone ’71 continued their annual tradition of inviting the Webb winter work students in the San Diego area to their home for an evening of good food, fellowship and relaxation. Three days later Jay Carson ’73 hosted three Webb students on a day trip for a taste of Los Angeles architecture, art, and music.
Strong Start for Parent Annual Fund
We wish to extend a hearty "Thank You" to the thirty parents of Webb students who have already given a total of $33,595 to the Webb Annual Fund as part of the Parents’ effort. The parent goal for the 2010-11 Webb Institute Annual Fund is $100,000 — and we are off to a great start! Much more needs to be done, however, before the end of the 2010-11 academic year June 30th.
