About Our Commencement Speaker
John C. Couch
Mr. John C. Couch is an executive with 47 years of general management experience in financial services, ocean transportation, real estate development, property management, agribusiness, food processing, and ship design and construction. Since March 2001, Mr. Couch has served as Chief Executive of a privately held investment management company. Earlier he served in key executive positions with a diversified, publicly traded, company. He has been active in community affairs and business organizations for many years. His education includes undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering from the University of Michigan and a graduate degree in Business Administration from Stanford University. Mr. Couch was born in Bremerton, Washington, but grew up in Bethesda, Maryland, and graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in 1957.
Webb Institute awarded Mr. Couch an Honorary Doctorate of Commercial Science during the commencement ceremony.
