Eye on America features Webb Institute on "Excellence in Education and Unique Career Paths."

The producers of Eye on America, an innovative, educational television series, have produced a short feature on Webb Institute as part of their series on topics, trends, and issues related to"Excellence in Education."

Today's career-minded high school students are looking beyond their education into the future. With a graduate placement rate of 100% each year, Webb Institute, offers great appeal. Throughout the years, our graduates have landed jobs with ship and yacht design firms, oil companies, ship operating firms, and companies that provide equipment and service to the maritime industries.

Webb's four-year, full-tuition scholarship for every student is also one of the best values in higher education and an incredible opportunity in today's economy. "When Mr. Webb founded this school, he didn't want money to be a distraction to study. He also didn't want money to keep talented people who loved boats and engineering from learning," says Webb Institute President, Robert C. Olsen, Jr. USCG (Ret.). It remains part of Webb's mission to provide these scholarships to every student, every year and it is accomplished through the support of the Alumni, the marine industry, trustees, parents and friends of the Institute.

Accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Webb's 146 credit curriculum enables students to study the design and engineering of all types of ships, floating craft and marine structures. A valuable and integral part of the Webb education is the students' participation in a two-month Winter Work Term each year, going to shipyards, sea, yacht design and naval architecture firms throughout the United States and the world. You'll find more information about the curriculum and internship program in the "About Webb" link under, The Program."
