4/11: Results vs. Pratt Institute

By HVMAC Tennis Coach Patrick Doherty

For the second year in a row, the Webb tennis team lost to the Pratt Institute squad by a narrow 5-4 score. Pratt has been a tennis powerhouse in the HVMAC for the past few years, and the Webb team gained enormous respect last night with their showing on Pratt’s home courts in Brooklyn. Sean “Duran Duran” Doran earned “Player of the Match” honors with his 3rd singles victory in a row with a 10-1 score! He then partnered up with Webb’s #1 player Michael “Cheech” Cheng and defeated the best Pratt had to offer in a grueling, hard fought match at the #1 doubles slot, winning a 9-7 tiebreaker match which mesmerized all who watched. Jon Soja and Dan Dwyer picked up their 3rd victory in a row as well at the always tough #2 doubles slot! The entire team played well and after Thursday’s match against the USMMA, are all looking forward to a well deserved and highly anticipated Spring Break!
