Webb Institute at Sarah Lawrence – October 24, 2010
Webb finished out the season against Sarah Lawrence on Sunday with a night game under the lights. Webb had a slow start like in some of the previous games, and Sarah Lawrence took full advantage. Sarah Lawrence was held scoreless for the first 15 minutes of the game, but after the first went in they started scoring in bunches, closing out the first half with of lead of 7-0. The second half was a completely different game as Webb was able to find its stride and played much better all around. With great defense from Dan Dwyer ’13, Colin Spillane ’13, and captains Dale Pederson ’12 and Josh Lambertsen ’11, Webb began stifling Sarah Lawrence’s offense and pushing the game toward the half field. Henry Jensen ’14, Nathan Hagan ’12, Amy Zahray '14, and captain Michael Cheng ’12 also had great second halves in the midfield for Webb. Sean Doran ’12 would score Webb’s first goal with a brilliant one-on-one breakaway beating the goalie. Webb’s second goal came from a perfect volley from Schuyler Needham ’12 into the upper corner, assisted by Lidia Mouravieff ’11 and Sean Doran ’12. Sarah Lawrence would end up winning the game 12-2. Michael Cheng and Sean Doran both scored during the season with one goal and three goals, respectively. Schuyler Needham ends the season as Webb’s leading scorer with 6 goals. Congrats to Lidia Mouravieff and Josh Lambertsen as they played great in their last soccer game at Webb. The senior players would like to thank everyone for the all the great memories of the past four years!
