Webb Students Share Their Winter Work Job Experiences
Some of the most memorable and valuable learning experiences afforded Webb students take place, not in the classroom, but in the jobs they take on all over the world as part of Webb’s, eight week Winter Work Term.
Every January and February Webb students go to work in shipyards, aboard ships and in design offices here and abroad, to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom and to learn about what the marine industry is doing in their respective fields.
Luckily viewers can spend some time in the Blogs our students are now posting to get an idea of what a Webb Winter work term experience can be like in each year of our program.
Here are Shipyard/Ship Building Blogs from freshmen Will Sturdy and Kelly O’Brien, Erin Hub, T. J. Brackin, Alexandra Wilson and junior, Eric Harris.
The Sea Term Blogs from sophomores, Stefan Kuczera and Evan Wingfield.
Engineering Design firm Blogs from juniors, John Carlson and Samantha Griswold.
These invaluable experiences added to the excellent classroom instruction Webb students receive are one of the reasons why Webb students are in such demand.
If you like the idea of hands on education and recognize the value of solving practical problems being a component of your college education you’ll really enjoy reading these Blogs.
